Coconut Chutney

Ingredients:

Coconut (1)
Toor Dal (1/4 cup)
Onion (1)
Green Chille (3-4)
Salt to taste
Curry Leaves(Kadi Patta) (6-7 leaves)
Mustered Seeds
Vegetable Oil (1-2 table spoon)

Method:
Fry the toor dal until brown. Soak in water for 1/2 to 1 hour. Wash and drain the toor dal.Cut the coconut, onions, green chilies and put in blender(Mixie). Add salt to taste. Grind the contents until its like a paste.

Take some vegetable oil on a fry pan. After heated for sometime add the mustered seed and curry leaves. Remove from flame and mix with the paste.

Your chutney is ready. Serve with Dosa or Idili.

Tender coconut drink for this summer!!!

Cool drink for this summer!!!!

Take a tender coconut, pour out the water into a blender, add the coconut cream and a little sugar to taste. Blend the contents till you see a little froth. Pour into a glass and keep in fridge until cold. Drink as you please..

Strawberry Lassi!! Yummy!! - Indian Recipes

Just had Strawberry Lassi, was awesome. Let me share the simple recipe.

Ingredients:

Fresh Strawberries(or use frozen Strawberries)
Yogurt/Sour Cream
Sugar to taste
Mint leaves for Garnish



Method:
Wash and drain Strawberries, blend yogurt/sour cream, sugar and Strawberries. Garnish with strips of mint leaves.

Simple and the best.. :)

Got a cough, try this remedy at home!!!!

Drink warm milk mixed with turmeric and ground pepper. Gargle with salt and hot water before you drink the turmeric milk. Though I hate the taste of this, it works every time for me.

Beetroot Halwa

Ingredients:

1 kg Beetroot ( 2 lbs)
1 liter milk
2 tbs Ghee
5-6 Cardamom ( powdered)
2 tbs Condensed milk
Cashews
Raisins
Sugar
A pinch of Saffron

Preparation:
Grate the Beetroot, and in a vessel add the grated Beetroot, milk and sugar ( you can add sugar as per your taste). Now let the beetroot cook in the milk till all of the milk evaporates(stir on a regular basis). Add the powdered cardamom in between. Add the condensed milk.(condensed milk is not a must, but gives a better taste). Fry the Cashews and Raisins in Ghee, later add it to the beetroot, cook for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with broken cashews and saffron.
